Russian Caravan tea takes it name from the journey of tea transported from China to Russia.
Our regular Russian Caravan blend (Keemun and Oolong) is representative of the tea at the start of this long and arduous journey, whereas our 'Smokey Russian' has added Lapsang Souchong to create and mimic the smokiness derived from the campfires lit along the way which absorbed into the tea thus representing the flavour of the tea nearing the end of the journey.
It is useful to know that not all blends of Russian Caravan tea are the same -all tea merchants have their own style!
